Four Places To Look To Make Money Blogging

While this site is very new, I have been blogging for about 5 or 6 years. A lot has changed in this timespan, especially how to make money blogging online. I first started blogging as a hobby and didn’t even think about how I could monetize my blog. It took a few years before I started to make a part time wage from it. On my other blog I spoke about how I made 12k one year through part time blogging. Blogging is competitive so you need to make sure you stand out from the crowd and can really offer something. That might be a super engaged audience for a brand campaign. Or a high DA for an SEO campaign.

Here are some of the places you should check out to help you make money blogging.

Get Blogged

I’m going to be honest it took me a little time to get into Get Blogged. To begin with the prices advertised were quite low and while they aren’t crazy high now they have certainly improved.

You select which DA band you fall into and you can apply for whatever campaigns you want. I find the site really easy to use and once you’ve completed a post they pay out very quickly.

Make money blogging online by using Bloggers Required

A lot of the campaigns and opportunities you’ll find on Bloggers Required will be product reviews. But I have seen some sponsored post campaigns advertised on there as well. It’s a great site to use when you’re first starting off as the brands on there tend to be smaller.

You just need to create a profile on their website which is used when you apply for an opportunity. Then each campaign you apply for you get a chance to write about why you’d be a good fit for the collaboration.

Make money blogging by using Twitter

You have to have patience to use Twitter but you can find some hidden gems by searching the hashtags #Prrequest and #Bloggerswanted. A lot of bloggers use them to advertise their own content, or use them for other purposes. So expect to have to invest a little bit of time but a lot of PR’s use twitter as an easy way to find bloggers for campaigns.

Generally they’ll either list their email for you to reach out directly. Or they’ll collate details so they can choose who to reach out for. Either way it’s a good way to make money blogging by keeping an eye open on the hashtags. I’ve had quite a few paid posts through twitter, alongside various review products and my first press trip as well.

Make money blogging by going out and pitching

One of the most affective ways to get brands to want to work with you is to actively pitch to them. This is something I’m still working on as I don’t pitch anywhere near as much as I should (or could).

But choose brands which align with your brand and would be a logical fit. Then sell that to the brand you want to work with. Explain why your blog is a great platform, what you can offer them and what you’d be looking for in exchange. Always make sure to use examples of previous posts or campaigns so the brand can see your worth.

If you’re looking for more product review opportunities some great places to try out are:

  • Press Loft– Search the collaboration section
  • Response source– You can put a shout out for products/ information you may require and brands can contact you directly
  • Gift Guide Portal– You can sign up and and request particular products from brands
