Things We’d Do To Our House If Money Was No Object

We’ve been lucky to be renovating our first home since the end of March. Thankfully we’re in now and I couldn’t be happier. We’ve managed to do a lot of projects after saving hard for 18 months. But if money was no object there are so many more things we’d love to do around our house.

If money was no object we’d fit-out our main bathroom

When we were stripping things out we stripped out the bathroom so we wouldn’t make a mess when the time came to renovate it. Currently, it’s empty, unusable and screaming out to have a bath installed. Hopefully, we’ll have this space sorted before Christmas. But if money was no object we’d do it now and go all out. My parents don’t have a bath at their house so I’ve not had one since I moved out of my flat in Feb 2019. So getting the biggest bath we can is super important for us.

Convert our garage loft

We’re lucky to have a double garage which has a massive loft space above it. If money was no object I’d love to see if we could get planning permission to convert it into rooms. I have no idea at the moment what we’d use the rooms for but imagine having all that extra space you could use for whatever you wanted. We could move Luke’s man cave upstairs to a huge space and use the current space for an at-home gym. The possibilities are endless.

If money was no object we’d re-pave our front

We want to get the front of our garden re-paved and made to look neater so we’d definitely get this done. We have stones around our front garden which can be a nightmare when you drive over them to park. Or if you get one stuck in your shoe. We want to totally get rid of them and have it paved so it’s neater and less maintenance.

Landscape our garden

Our 2021 project is our garden and if money was no object we would get someone in to totally landscape it. We like the overall layout but we want it all done eventually. The decking area is pretty sizeable and we love that for entertaining so we’d get it re-decked and looking fresher. Then we’d get rid of the four sheds that are currently there and get a nice new one for the few bits we do need.

Next up would be the turf and flower beds. They’re not the worst but they certainly need some TLC. And then get some garden items like a hammock stand and a massive table so we can spend time out there.

If money was no object we’d get a hot tub

This is something else we’ve spoken about quite often before. And I’m sure one day when we can afford it we’ll get one. But if money was no object we’d have one now and I’d be sitting in there with a cocktail and a book. A good six-person hot tub would be pretty great so when we had friends over we could all enjoy it.

What would you do to your house if money was no object?
